MAKOMnj is a new, independent Jewish community. We offer positive, meaningful Jewish and Jew-ish experiences that help everyone feel connected and find meaning in their own way. There is no judgement, no strings attached (except the ones you want to form) and no dues. We are not your childhood synagogue. We are Judaism outside the box!
Singles, couples and families of all kinds are welcome.
Spending time with MAKOMnj just feels good. We are not bound by a particular location. We meet in homes, event spaces and other interesting venues in and around Morris and Essex Counties.

Makom is pronounced mah-KOHM. In Hebrew it means “place.” It is also another name for God.
MAKOMnj is the place where we take the time to get to know one another and recognize the God-like qualities and goodness within each person.
